Weekend in Pictures – Cafe, Millipedes and Creative Workshop

Last weekend was a long one because of the Vesak Day public holiday. I had two of my best girl friends over for lunch on Friday and later, we checked out a new cafe, The Fabulous Baker Boy. This turned out to be such a great choice. There was open space for Kenan to run about and he made friends with the many millipedes that were crawling around!

I had some me-time on Saturday afternoon at Canon’s holiday creativity workshop. This was an invite from omy.sg and I got to meet some new bloggers. Among some of the things we made were a passport holder and a luggage tag. I haven’t done craft work in quite a while and really enjoy getting a creative workout.

Sunday was pretty much a winding down day as we rested at home. I love my weekends. How was yours?

What a fun weekend! Kenan is soooo big already! I see that he and Vito have the same love for zoos, animal, and building things!

Oh! I thought Vesak Day would be celebrated on the same day in our region! Great to hear that you had your Saturday off!

I hope Mr Z is all well by now! I love the cafe – I was just thinking of going there on a weekday to enjoy a good book, indulge in yummy cakes and just watch the world go by! Weekends are crowded, call to make a reservation :)

Yes, it had been a fun weekend! The cake is yummy – moist, not too sweet and filled with lot of pecan nuts! :)

Hi Ruth,

I like the pic with milipedes @@ , it is a challenge to a mom too, my daughter likes this kind of invertebrates very much ( she can just look and play with it for 10 mins, better than LEGO) , so scary , kids like this because of curiosity I guess. Actually sometimes I even don’t know their names in Cantonese/English, I just say insects @@

Yes, I also don’t know the names of all the insects! That aside, it just shows that kids don’t really need a lot of toys. What they need is the chance to explore their world! There’s enough in nature to keep them happily occupied – we should really cut back on the time kids spent on ipad and gadgets.
