Premiering today 9 July 2012, preschoolers can now catch Doc McStuffins, a new original series to join the Disney Junior channel’s staples like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny, Jake and the Never Land Pirates and many more.
Doc McStuffins is the main character of the show. A lovable six-year-old who is the Dr. Doolittle of the toy world, she has the ability to talk to and heal toys and stuffed animals! With help from Stuffy, an overly proud stuffed dragon; Lambie, a stuffed lamb who loves to cuddle (aw… how sweet!); Hallie, a jolly hippo receptionist; and Chilly, a hypochondriac stuffed snowman, the Doc with a big heart runs a clinic for toys out of her toyhouse.
Each episode of Doc McStuffins includes original songs performed by the characters. Parents will also be happy to know that at the end of each episode, the Doc teaches young viewers the importance of staying healthy and maintaining hygienic habits like washing hands regularly.
The series also reinforces positive values like a sense of community, compassion for people and things, and lending a helping hand to anyone in need.
To offer us a sneak peak of the new series, Kenan and I were invited to Spruce for a preview last Wednesday together with some other mom bloggers and kids.
As you can see, Kenan was engrossed with the show! I think it was the cute toys and stuffed animals that captivated him. I must agree that the characters are really adorable. I also like the fact that the show teaches young children about healthy living and developing good hygiene, as well as values such as being caring and compassionate.
We were also treated some really nice finger food and snacks by Spruce. Yum!
Of course, with all the adorable kids, how could we not take a photo together? After all, we had a great time mingling – catching up or meeting new friends for the first time!
Thank you, Disney for the invite, we had a great time.
If you have not watched the first episode of Doc McStuffins yet, you can still catch it tonight at 8pm!

Hi! I'm Ruth.
I love hanging out at cafes. It's where I have heart-to-heart talks with friends, chill out with my hubby, spend solitary moments with a book in hand, do my work, plan my future and very often, to people-watch.
In starting this blog, I hope to create a cosy virtual space to share about my life after becoming a WAHM - the mundane and the not so mundane and lessons I am learning along the journey.
